The following applies to all force users requesting promotional titles. They are the rules from the rules page, as well as remnants from staff rulings made in the past that new members may not have heard about yet.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PROMOTION TO KNIGHT:
You must reach or exceed the following rules. Yes, this applies to people coming over from other galaxies as well. If you do not meet or exceed these requirements, please work to do so. For those crossing over from another galaxy, rule #1 may be waved. All others must be met. These rules are pertinent to all who wish to play a character who is Force-sensitive in any way. Every Force user should review these rules to understand both their limits and their rights and privileges.
- Requirements may be defined by the groups, provided they do not under-cut the following.
- 1 - One month (minimum) in the galaxy.
- 1 - A completed training thread, consisting of 60 or more posts covering all the major force powers.
- 2 - One duel.
- 3 - One or two role-plays.
- 4 - RPing ability on the level of the other Knights in the galaxy.
These may be and should be adjusted based on your own disgression and the ethos of your group. If it is found that your group has promoted multiple users to Knight (or equivalent rank) before they are up to Knight standard (both in RPing ability and experience), the staff may step in to serve as judges of a user's readiness or, in severe cases, revoke your ability to promote users.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PROMOTION TO MASTER:
The Rank of Master must be approved by the Force Council. Just post a thread here in the communications forum, and the Council will examine you. For Masters crossing over from a different galaxy, we request that you participate in at least one RP in the battlegrounds before requesting the rank of Master.
- Must be approved by the Force Council
- 1 - Six month (minimum) in the galaxy.
- 2 - Six or Seven role-plays.
- 4 - RPing ability on the level of the other Masters in the galaxy.
If it is found that your group has promoted multiple users to Master (or equivalent rank) before they are up to Master standard (both in RPing ability and experience), the staff may step in to serve as judges of a user's readiness or, in severe cases, revoke your ability to promote users.
RANKS IN GENERAL
TRF uses a three-tier Force system. All of TRF uses a three-tier Force system.
- Padawan Learner
- Jedi Knight
- Jedi Master
Making up special irrelevant ranks for yourself is fine, and making up your own ranking system to fill those three tiers, is fine. However, there is not going to be a ranking system that goes:
- Sith Apprentice
- Sith Knight
- Sith Master
- Sith Lord
If you want to say that Master is just a variation on Lord, that's okay. But we don't want people inventing these extra ranks to place themselves above those working on the standard three-tier system. If you wish, you can re-name the standard three ranks, like so...
- Sith Cow,
- Sith Monkey,
- Sith Weiner Dog
You can even add ranks between the standard three-tier system to flesh it out.
- Learner
- Apprentice
- Innate
- Knight
- Warrior
- Lord
- Master
However, the extra ranks are for show only. A Sith Lord using the scale above is not more powerful than a Jedi Knight if both characters have existed for the same amount of time. There is no rank above that of Master (though you can rename your Master rank). Once you have reached Master, there is no where to go. After that, the power of your character is judged by your role-play ability, the length of time your character has been in the TRF galaxy, and the strength of your character.
PLEASE NOTE:
The above are suggestions, and minimum requirements. You are free to change these at will for your group, provided you do not undercut, or otherwise use a system that deceives people into believing your members are more powerful than they really are.
When requesting a promotional rank, you must present links to your training thread[s] and Role-Plays. Our Force Council (a group of senior force users) will review your qualifications, and give Damalis the yes or no. Please be patient in waiting, it may take a few days for the entirety of the council to see your request, and look into it.
If the rank you are requesting a CT for is a filler rank, and not one of the base three please make note of that in your request, as filler ranks to not require confirmation.
